Prof Dr. Mohamad Khazani Abdullah– Chief Technology Officer

Mohamad Khazani Abdullah obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Missouri at Rolla, USA, in 1990 and 1993, respectively, and a Ph.D. degree in Physics from University Malaya, in 1999. He was awarded the Malaysian National Young Scientist award for the year 2001 for his various contributions in the field of optical fiber communications. He has won several medals at various international expositions including Best Design in the Asia Pacific Region at INPEX-Pittsburgh, 2004 and Special Award at Eureka, Brussels 2005. He has successfully filed 11 patents for his inventions and scientific works.

Professor Abdullah, was the Deputy Dean of Graduate School, and Head of the Photonics and Fiber Optic Systems Laboratory, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) until April 2008. Currently, he is the Director and Chief Technology Officer at Significant Technologies Sdn Bhd, a company specializing in fiber optic products and services (www.sigtech.com.my). He also currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Electronics and Communications Engineering Dept., Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN).

His research finding on Optical Amplifiers was reported in Photonics Spectra, a leading scientific magazine in the field of photonics. His latest research focus is on a novel multiplexing technique known as Duty Cycle Division Multiplexing (DCDM). Dr. Khazani is currently serving as a reviewer for various international publications including top-ten journals in photonics/optics. He also has the experience in commercializing various RnD products into local and oversea markets, and has spun off 5 start-up companies. Recently he has obtained the Trade Mark for his new knowledge-based invention known as K-ChartTM, an effective tool for research project planning and management.

Najman Kamaruddin – Executive Director

A degree holder in Business Administration from Washington University USA(1991), En Najman is responsible for the overall direction of the company. He has about 15 years experience in banking and management which would be an asset to the company. During his banking career with Maybank, KFH Ijarah House and EON Bank Berhad, En Najman was involved in corporate financing which provided him the opportunity to study and understand the various style of management and operation of different businesses.

Subsequently in 2001, he joined TDM Berhad, a company listed on KLSE main board, and he was seconded to a subsidiary company as Executive Director. His responsibilities include overseeing the overall operation of the company to ensure improvement in its profitability.

Norazmi bin Ismail – Chief Executive Officer

Norazmi obtained his Bachelor in Engineering (Hons) from University Science Malaysia, Pulau Pinang majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He started his career in fiber optics by joining R&D department, Telekom Malaysia Berhad from 1997 until end 2000, specializing in products development. The products ranges from both passive and active components which include optical fiber couplers, wavelength selective couplers, fiber lasers and optical amplifiers. In Dec 2000, he joined Agilent Technologies as R&D Engineers handling Optical Transceivers product lines and CMOS sensor’s based optical products. Prior to joining Sigtech, he was the Optical Transceiver Products Engineer at Finisar Corp. attached to the high speed long wave transceiver group.

Aziz Ramli - Marketing Manager

A graduate from State University of New York, Buffalo, in Economics in 1992. He has involved in marketing & sales for about 10 years in a wide range of products. Currently, overseeing Significant Technologies Sdn Bhd marketing development and sales activities.

Hafizul Hamdi Bin Hassan – Finance and HR Manager

A degree holder in Accountancy from American University, Washington DC USA (1998), En Hafizul Hamdi is in charge of the Accounting and Human Resource Department of the company. His previous experiences as Intermediate Accountant for a non-profit organization at Washington DC USA from 1999 to 2001 and subsequently he joined an Internet company, Powers of Internet Users Inc, Virginia, USA. En Hafizul Hamdi joined Significant Technologies in early 2002 as HR and Finance Manager.

Aidi Zakarna – Technical Manager

A degree holder in Electronic Engineering from UNITEN, En Aidi has been with Significant Technology since year 2000 and ever since has been actively involved in technical marketing for calibration and training services.

Amir Rohaizat – Training Manager

Amir Rohaizat holds MBA and BSc. (Physics) from UiTM and UKM respectively. He also obtained the Certificate IV in Workplace Assessor & Training from Competency Training Institute of Australia.

Professionally, he has served in numerous multinational as well as government linked company such as SIRIM Berhad, Fujitsu and etc. He has more than 6 years experience in photonic industry especially in R&D, manufacturing and testing of passive fiber optic components.

During his tenure-ship with the MNCs and GLC, apart from his functional responsibilities, he has also spent considerable time in training and developing training modules in organization he served.
