For the past few years, the telecommunication industry has witnessed
the growth of fiber optic and wireless technologies as the main medium
of telecommunication carrier which enhance the speed and bandwidth of
voice, video and data transfer.
At the user end, new applications and thus new equipment were
introduced to fulfill the never ending telecommunication requirements.
The phenomenon in turn creates demand for skill and knowledge workers
to implement, commission, test and monitor the applications, equipment
and networks.
To meet the growing demand, SIGtech with years of experience in
telecommunication field has come up with several training modules that
combine theory and hands on so that eventually the training
participants would acquire skills and knowledge that will enable them
to confidently work in telecommunication industry.
SIGtech training programs are divided into several packages among which
are as follows:
Train and Place

Public Training
Public Training course is open to the general public and mostly covers
the basic or introduction of the telecommunication industry. Duration
of courses is normally two to three days.

In-house
Training
As the name refers, the in-house training is specifically designed to
meet the customized requirement of a particular company which is
involved in telecommunication related business.
Courses offered are customized to the company training needs. Customer
will consult SIGtech to have a blend of subjects covered in a given
time frame. Duration of courses is between 1 to 2 weeks.
The company’s goal is normally to reinforce, enhance and update the
knowledge of their staff on the latest telecommunication technologies.
At the end of the course, the company is free to choose whether to have
their staff to sit for an exam or otherwise. The exams are approved by
Fiber Optic Association (FOA) based in the United States.
Long-term Training
The long term training programs are usually for Skills and Training
Institution that would like to adopt the training program as part of
their programs. The Skills and Training Institutions would interview
and subsequently recruit the students to enroll into the program At the
end of the course, the students would acquire enough knowledge on
telecommunication technologies especially on fiber optic and wireless
networks.
The course is divided into 4 months of lecturer and hands on training
and another 4 months on the job (OJT) training. Based on our past track
managed, about 80% of the students attending our courses have managed
to secure jobs after the OJT program.
Participants will also seat for exam approved by Fiber Optic
Association (FOA) which will confer them the certificate of Certified
Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT).
FOA Certificates
SIGtech is an approved school of the Fiber Optic Association of America
(FOA), a highly recognized body in the field of fiber optic technology.
FOA offers courses in which SIGtech is the authorized and recognized
training center.
The duration of the courses is normally five days whereby for days for
theory and The course consists of theory and hands on for 4 days and on
the 5th day, participants would seat for FOA approved exam.
